An original metallic watercolour painting with pen detail on a panel board, varnished.
I have always thought peacocks were beautifully majestic birds . I was not only captivated by the rich colours, tail of ‘eyes’ but also the crown of feathers! I used metallic watercolours to capture the shimmer of the feathers and pen to draw the tangle and lushness or their feathers. The poppy pink frame proves a fun contrast to the peacock, whose feathers tumble onto its edge.
The original is folds in a vibrant pink tray frame with feather detail painted and drawn along its bottom half. Dimensions 87.5 × 63 ×3.5cm
