Although peacocks are known for their majestic tails, in this portrait I wanted to capture the elegance of their long necks and the regal crest of feathers on their heads. The original piece was created with washes of acrylic ink applied to the background, and pen and coloured pencil to build up the layers and detail of the peacock.
